Rwanda generated over RWF 14.6 billion from agricultural and livestock exports between April 13 and April 17, 2026, according to the National Agricultural Export Development Board.
The weekly report shows that 9,793 tonnes of agricultural and livestock products were exported during the five-day period, including coffee, tea, vegetables, fruits, flowers and other commodities.
Tea remained the leading foreign exchange earner, with 1,135 tonnes exported generating RWF 4.7 billion, followed by coffee exports of 137 tonnes which earned about RWF 713 million.
Vegetables contributed 298 tonnes valued at RWF 799 million, while fruit exports reached 259 tonnes and generated RWF 188 million. Flower exports stood at 11 tonnes, earning RWF 88 million.
Other agricultural products, including tubers, cereals and legumes, accounted for the largest volume at 7,598 tonnes, bringing in about RWF 7 billion.
Livestock and related products contributed 355 tonnes and generated over RWF 957 million during the same period.
NAEB noted that the exports were shipped to markets including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Nigeria, and other destinations across Africa.
