Rwanda has stepped up efforts to position itself as a premier tourism and investment destination by participating in Pakistan’s largest international travel exhibition, showcasing its natural attractions and growing industry potential.

The expo, which opened on April 3, 2026, brought together leading players in tourism, aviation, and hospitality. Rwanda was represented by its Ambassador to Pakistan, Fatou Harelimana, alongside senior Pakistani officials including Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi.

The Rwandan Embassy in Pakistan said the country’s exhibition stand drew strong interest from visitors, many of whom expressed admiration for Rwanda’s rapid progress in tourism development and its diverse offerings.

At the showcase, Rwanda promoted key destinations such as Nyungwe National Park, Akagera National Park, and Lake Kivu, highlighting its strength in eco-tourism, wildlife experiences, and scenic landscapes. It also used the platform to position itself as a gateway for investment and business opportunities in Africa.

Senior Pakistani officials, including Prime Minister’s tourism advisor Sardar Yasir Ilyas and Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director Aftab ur Rehman Rana, visited the Rwanda stand and praised the country’s achievements and potential in the sector.

The exhibition is Pakistan’s flagship tourism event, attracting global stakeholders across the travel value chain.

Tourism continues to be a key pillar of Rwanda’s economy, generating about $647 million in 2024 and reinforcing its role as a major source of foreign exchange.
