The Rwandan Embassy in the United Arab Emirates has announced support for Rwandans living in the UAE and Bahrain who are unable to return home due to escalating security tensions in the Middle East.
In a statement released on March 6, 2026, the Embassy said it is coordinating with RwandAir and other relevant authorities to arrange safe return flights. Citizens willing to return are urged to register with the Embassy immediately.
The Embassy also advised Rwandans to follow local security directives and monitor official updates. It confirmed that no Rwandans have so far been affected by the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
The conflict escalated on February 28, 2026, when U.S. and Israeli forces launched air and missile strikes in Tehran. Iran responded with missile attacks targeting Israel and U.S. military facilities across several Middle Eastern countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Syria.
Humanitarian agencies report that the strikes in Iran have claimed 1,332 lives, with over 80 fatalities in neighboring countries affected by the conflict. The situation remains volatile, with both sides indicating ongoing military operations.
