Twagirumukiza François has been elected president of the Private Sector Federation, taking over from Jeanne Françoise Mubiligi, who led the federation since February 2023.
The elections for the new PSF leadership committee were held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Kigali Convention Centre. Twagirumukiza won decisively, receiving 191 out of 202 votes cast by members of the electoral assembly.
Running unopposed, Twagirumukiza will be supported by Uwizeyemungu Jean Claude as First Vice President, while Mukasahaha Kamanzi Diane was elected Second Vice President.
The national vote followed local and regional elections in which PSF members from various districts and provinces elected their representatives. Sectoral representatives were also chosen through forums covering agriculture and livestock, industry, services, trade, and special interest groups including women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
Twagirumukiza brings 28 years of business experience to the role and is the owner of two enterprises, including Eastern Hope, a company importing construction materials into Rwanda. He holds a First-Class degree in African Languages, earned in 1992.
This leadership change is expected to reinforce private sector engagement in Rwanda’s economic growth and strengthen collaboration across industries.
