Rwanda’s Minister of Education, Nsengimana Joseph, has conferred bachelor’s and master’s degrees on 38 police officers who completed leadership training at the Rwanda National Police (RNP) College.
The graduation ceremony for the 14th cohort of the leadership programme was held in Musanze District on Friday, June 19, 2026.
The graduates include 23 Rwandan officers and 15 international participants from 10 African countries, drawn from various security institutions including the Rwanda National Police, Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS) and the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS).
The one-year programme saw 36 officers awarded master’s degrees, while two completed bachelor’s degrees.
The Commandant of the Rwanda National Police College, CP Christophe Bizimana, commended the graduates for their discipline, dedication and professionalism throughout the training period.
He urged them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to improve service delivery within their respective institutions.
CP Bizimana emphasized that professionalism should be reflected not only in operational duties but also in everyday conduct and decision-making.
He also called on the graduates to maintain the networks and relationships built during their studies, noting that such connections are essential for strengthening cooperation between security institutions and countries.
He further stressed that in today’s evolving security landscape, collaboration between agencies and nations remains critical.
Reinforcing discipline as a core value in policing, he said it is the foundation of effective service delivery and leadership in the security sector.
He encouraged officers to manage their time effectively, maintain physical and mental well-being, and uphold respect in their interactions with others.
The graduates were encouraged to uphold the values of professionalism and discipline as they return to serve in their respective countries and institutions.
