The Ambassadors of Christ Choir brought hope and spiritual renewal to inmates at Gitagata Correctional Center during a gospel outreach concert, with many participants embracing faith.
The event took place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Nyagihunika Cell, Musenyi Sector, Bugesera District, as part of a nationwide initiative by the choir to reach communities and institutions that rarely have access to gospel programs.
In addition to spiritual guidance, the choir donated Bibles, clothing, and hygiene kits to support the inmates’ wellbeing and daily life.
This concert follows a similar event at Iwawa Correctional Center on February 21, 2026, where 195 inmates committed to turning their lives around.
The choir is also preparing a milestone celebration for 30 years of gospel ministry, set for August 23, 2026, highlighting its long-term commitment to spreading the gospel across Rwanda.
Gitagata Correctional Center, located in Bugesera District, is one of three facilities managed by the National Rehabilitation Service (NRS). It houses women and girls convicted of offenses affecting the community. Many inmates come from short-term transit centers and receive moral education and vocational training under local authorities to aid rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society.
