Egypt: Minister Biruta tours special forces training center, reaffirms Rwanda-Egypt security cooperation

Rwanda’s Minister of Security, Dr. Vincent Biruta, on an official visit to Egypt, toured the National Center for Special Forces Training, observing advanced professional programs for Egypt’s police force.

During the visit, he praised the center’s professionalism and highlighted Rwanda’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation through knowledge and expertise exchange.

On February 17, 2026, Rwanda and Egypt signed an agreement to formalize mechanisms for information and expertise sharing between their police forces.

Dr. Biruta noted that over 300 Rwandan officers have trained at the Egyptian Police Academy since 1999, underscoring decades of collaboration in enhancing regional security.

The Rwandan delegation began its official visit on February 16, 2026.
