Rwanda earned more than Rwf 26 billion ($18.5 million) from agricultural exports between February 16 and 20, 2026, the Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board (NAEB) reported.

During the five-day period, the country exported 10,600 tonnes of agricultural and livestock products, including coffee, tea, vegetables, fruits, flowers, cereals, legumes, potatoes, and livestock products. Coffee exports alone accounted for 1,506 tonnes, bringing in Rwf 13.8 billion, while 1,497 tonnes of tea earned Rwf 6.3 billion. Other crops generated Rwf 4.9 billion, with key markets including Oman and several African countries.

Vegetables and fruits exported to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa totaled 813 tonnes, earning Rwf 1.04 billion, while livestock and related products brought in Rwf 535 million.

Rwanda has been actively transforming agriculture from subsistence to commercial production to boost farmer incomes. The Ministry of Agriculture had projected over $1 billion in export earnings for the 2025/26 fiscal year. The country aims to grow annual exports by 13 percent, targeting $7.3 billion in agricultural exports by 2029.
