The Rwanda National Police (RNP), the Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF), and their partners have launched a nationwide program aimed at improving citizens’ welfare and promoting development.

The initiatives, which started on Monday, 9 March 2026, are part of the celebrations for the 32nd Liberation Day (#Kwibohora32) and are themed: “Partnership between citizens, RDF, and police.”

Activities will focus on healthcare, livestock support, housing for vulnerable families, school construction, water supply, bridge building, and environmental protection, reaching communities across the country.

ACP Teddy Ruyenzi, head of the Police-Citizen Liaison Department, called on Rwandans to actively participate. “We urge citizens to join us and work together, whether in building houses or implementing other projects,” he said on Rwanda Television (RTV).

Colonel Désiré Migambi Mungamba, head of the RDF-Citizen Liaison Office, highlighted the long-term impact of these programs since 2009, saying they have strengthened ties with communities and improved living standards nationwide.

“The programs have built strong relationships with citizens and enhanced their wellbeing, supporting national efforts to elevate living conditions,” he said.

The annual initiatives, mandated by law, demonstrate the RDF and Police’s commitment to citizen welfare and sustainable development ahead of Liberation Day on 4 July.
