The National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) has reported that market prices increased by 7.2% in November 2025 compared to the same month in 2024.

In October 2025, the annual inflation rate stood at 7.1%.

According to NISR, the rise in November prices was mainly driven by increases in several categories, including food and non-alcoholic beverages which rose by 1.4%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco which increased by 16.2%, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels which went up by 7.7%, health-related costs which rose sharply by 70.9%, transport costs which increased by 9.3%, and restaurant and accommodation services which rose by 19.4%.

NISR further noted that, excluding food and energy, core inflation for November 2025 increased by 9% compared to November 2024. Month-on-month, prices rose by 0.2% between October and November 2025.

This monthly increase was mainly influenced by a 1.4% rise in alcoholic beverages and tobacco, a 0.4% increase in housing-related costs, and a 0.6% increase in transport prices.

NISR also reports that in rural areas, prices increased by 2% in November 2025 compared to the same period last year.
