The Rwanda National Police (RNP) on Friday officially concluded the 02/26 cycle of the Station Commanders’ Course, in a ceremony held at the Counter-Terrorism Training Centre (CTTC) in Mayange, Bugesera District. The event emphasized the critical role of station commanders in fostering trust between the police and the communities they serve.
The 12-week training program was attended by officers from the Rwanda National Police, staff from the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), and participants from the Liberia National Police.
Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Administration and Human Resources, DCG Jeanne Chantal Ujeneza, presided over the closing ceremony and commended participants for their dedication and commitment throughout the course.
In her address, DCG Ujeneza encouraged the newly trained station commanders to view the knowledge and skills acquired as the foundation for a new phase in their careers. She emphasized that as leaders of police stations—the primary interface between the police and the public—they carry a responsibility to uphold professionalism, integrity, and strong community relations.
She added, “Your new responsibilities demand professionalism, honesty, and positive engagement with citizens. Through your leadership, we can continue to safeguard security and ensure the peace and wellbeing of Rwandans.”
The training is part of ongoing efforts by the RNP to strengthen leadership capacity, promote ethical policing, and enhance community trust across the country.
